As we wind down the year and head into the holiday break, the people at the agency were tasked with determining the top ten moments at Engage PR in 2008. Everyone sent in their most memorable events for the year, and of course, each list looked completely different. After much bickering and backing and forthing, we were finally able to narrow the list to ten. So, in no particular order, I present you with the top ten moments at Engage PR in 2008 – some are even related to PR.
-
The Company Trip to Monterey – This trip is most memorable for the monsoon-like weather that the team encountered during the trip. Trees fell, electricity was lost, roads were closed, FEMA was almost called in. It’s California, and we’re wimps when it comes to weather.
- The Community Service Project – Every year EPR participates in multiple events that benefit the surrounding community. This year we helped plant vegetation at the Martin Luther King Jr. Regional Shoreline Park in Oakland. Check out our YouTube video on the event.
Two-for-One Baby Day – The stork saved himself the trouble of making two trips by dropping off bundles of joy to two Engage PR employees on July 25, 2008.
New Media Launches – 2008 was the year of “New Media” for Engage PR. We launched our Facebook page, YouTube Channel, and Twitter account.
EPR Awards – EPR garnered some great awards in 2008, including the Mobile Star Award, the Best Places to Work Award, and PR Sourcecode’s Top Tech Communicators Award.
Three Hits in the Financial Times – Articles from three clients were accepted and published in one issue of the Financial Times in September. (ArcSight: Businesses can spot cybercrime - if they look for it / ConSentry: Budget constraints can drive IT innovation / Nominum: 'Cache poisoning' is new threat to Internet services)
Softball – If you are not concerned at all with wins, the season was an overwhelming success. Highlights included an amazing Willie-Mays-style catch by Chelsea Irwin an amazing out of the park homerun by Kevin Sugarman.
Raccoons – From far away, Raccoons appear very cute and cuddly. When they are staring at you with their little black beady eyes through your window from a tree limb for the better part of a day, it becomes clear why we chose to domesticate cats and dogs.
Fantasy Football – The inaugural Engage PR fantasy football league season was a huge success. Check out the YouTube video from draft night.
Halloween – The EPR Halloween potluck was a memorable event. The party was attended by Spongebob Squarepants, the Burger King 'King', Winnie the Pooh, Amy Winehouse, and others.
It has been a great year at Engage PR, and we are excited to see what catastrophes, critters, gambling, births, and other events 2009 will bring.
